Youth First: The Backbone of Maharashtra’s Future
By Siddhesh Kadam
Youth-led Future
In every generation, there comes a moment when the future begins to take shape, not in speeches, not in policies, but in the hearts, hands, and minds of the youth. For Maharashtra, that moment is now.
With one of the youngest populations in the country, Maharashtra holds an incredible advantage. Our youth are not just tomorrow’s leaders, they are today’s innovators, entrepreneurs, artists, engineers, and activists. They are the backbone of our state’s future, and it is our responsibility as public servants, policymakers, and mentors to place them first.

Investing in Youth
Investing in Youth
Whether it's education, employment, or entrepreneurship, the choices we make today will determine the kind of state we build tomorrow.
That’s why, under the banner of youth empowerment, our focus spans multiple areas:
Leadership Development: Through the Environmental Leadership Academy and mentorship programs, we are nurturing a generation of young changemakers ready to lead with purpose and passion.
Skill Building: We are supporting vocational and technical training that prepares youth for modern industries. From green energy and digital innovation to sustainable agriculture and healthcare.
Innovation Hubs: By creating incubation centres and startup platforms, we are empowering young minds to solve real problems with creativity and courage.
This is not just investment in people, it’s investment in possibilities.

Youth-led Environmental Action
Today’s youth are more environmentally conscious than any generation before. They are not passive observers, they are demanding change, taking action, and holding leaders accountable.
This has inspired much of our work in environmental governance. In beach clean-up drives, plastic-free campaigns, water conservation efforts, and community gardens, I’ve seen firsthand how youth can lead from the front.
That’s why our environmental programs are designed not just for youth participation but for youth leadership.
