The widely acclaimed “Shahanpan Dega Deva” campaign promotes the use of sustainable idols and visarjan in artificial ponds. In 2024, over 82,000 idols were immersed in eco-safe ways, a record success in the state's move towards plastic-free Maharashtra.
This campaign aligns with Mr. Kadam’s broader vision: reducing single-use plastic, encouraging biodegradable alternatives, and instilling long-term habits across communities.
